The Spirit of a Wolf

The autumn wind is cold when it blows late at night
She dares to run against it, prepared for the fight
Swift gusts of daggers shoot through her hair
Still she moves forward, where others wouldn't dare

She knows the road is rough and she knows the road is long
Yet she keeps on travelin' because her heart is strong
No troubles big and small can hold this ol' girl down
She looks them in the eye, never falling to the ground

I believe in her power, it shines like the sun
Her beauty and her strength can never be outdone
Along with her beauty and the weapon on truth
She has the heart of a lady and the spirit of a wolf.

This is a beautiful poem, I especially like the first two lines. However, I feel that a couple of the rhymes aren't perfect, and that sort of affects the whole poem.

A beautiful poem that expresses some traits to be found in the souls of all women, I think. Per your authors notes, you had someone special in mind, but it really speaks to the strength of spirit we all carry and should acknowledge. Very well done

In case I forgot to tell you, this is Thistle with a new name.

Glad I found time to get by and read. Would have hated to have missed this one.
