Two sunken eyes, a knobby nose
Grimy hair; no pink little bows
Her trunk is never decked in lace
Dirt is caked upon her face
Shaggy, tangled, porous mane
By little scissored hands untrained
Secrets behind dead lips are there
Though cutting up her tongue, won't share
When guts of truth slip through her seams
No cotton ball can be redeemed
Wishing stars fell to the sea
Tear-stained cheeks, she turns to flee
The edge it shimmers in the night
To make the bearer feel alright
The bottle rattles, no snakes behold
Ingest to see the truth be told
Fighting in her head she rasps
Breathing shallow, worthless gasps
Collapsed, a heap strewn on the ground
Her life no longer makes a sound
Close glassy eyes now hazed with fog
Her judgment now belongs to God
A pull-string doll stripped of her self
Stole her faith, her love, her health
Took her life into her hands
Abandoned God and all of man
Just because she could not see
What her life was meant to be
No child's miracle loving toy
Never Grandma's garnish joy
Not even dogs had fun with her
All aloneness became a blur
Felt she was nothing a god could mend
She turned her back to be condemned
