Texas Hold Em

He walks into the room, confident but unaware,
many eyes upon him, yet he doesnt feel the stare.
He has come with a purpose, the desire to win,
he will do his best, now let the games begin!

The cards have been dealt, the first round does begin,
he looks at his cards and needs to withhold his grin.
For there must be an angel near, lurking around,
for in his hand, 2 aces he has found.

He looks at the table, then lowers his eyes,
upon his face his elatment he must disquise.
The bet goes around, it's his turn to ante in,
he antes up, and the fun is now about to begin.

The cards reveal, a king,a queen, a duece and two aces,
how fortunate for him that they showed their faces.
The cards read themselves and his nicely did,
he won round one, entusiastic just like a kid.

Round two, he prays will be just as nice,
could it happen again, could he win twice?
Several rounds later, he is still in the game,
the tension is high, he has almost forgot his name.

Once again the cards fall into his hands just right,
looks like he is staying a little longer tonight.
There seems to be a calmness not even he can understand,
again the cards are in his favor, he wins another hand.

At long last he arrives at the final round,
his skill has been outstanding, there is not a sound
The cards have been dealt, could it possibly be?
He eyes are tired, does he see what he does see?

His face is blank, he can not even a stare,
even if he could, at this point he wouldnt care.
For as the cards made their apprearance, he holds a flush,
a royal, ace high,his heart beats like it is going to crush.

Could it be, is it possibly true?
Did he achieve what he had come here to do?
Let the cards fall, silently they lay,
this by far has been his luckiest day.

Not a hand at the table could compare,
he sits, trembling, a pale blank stare.
His skill and talent have brought him here,
in disbelief he has won, he wipes away a tear.
