That enigmatic embrace, oh Aphrodite,
Enticed this fearful soul to flight,
And at such heights, did so reveal
An oracular vision, a blessed authority
To undertake the elusive passage
Of an Eleusinian Mystery.
Not even Hades, could against you resolve,
When that enrapturing embrace, oh Aphrodite,
Restored a withered rose to life.
For there is no Leucadian cliff I fear,
Only a lack of the nourishment
That would drive me there.
Please tell me what you think

i was intrigued by your visit to my page, wondering what kind of statistical error this is
(for various reasons), thus i decided to visit you in return
. i agree with you – love is the most powerful of emotions we humans possede. your poem evokes an abysmally high (sorry for the oxymoron) desire for love so powerfully expressed in your last two lines and in the allusion tp persephone, it is written with almost “sappho” language, and i guess you are highy literated in mythology to write such a poem. i found it high quality and (admittedly, again) intriguing. welcome to my restricted circle of talented friends.

This poem is gorgeous and fun to read. Almost like an old style poem, I’d say this is a keeper. Nicely done
