The whole world is a forest.
That's how it is on Doshnory.
It's the name of a planet
and the beginning of my story.
I lived with a rabbit
who was called Garret.
Although he was man-eating,
now he preferred a carrot.
Some men came from
a weird planet called Earth.
They wanted to level all of the forest,
on Doshnory's wide girth.
We heard they were camped
near a rock called Giant's Lever.
Garret and I chose
to make them leave forever.
He was a man-eating beast,
and I was good with a sling.
We just had to figure out
how to dodge those "gun" things.
Without any warning
Garret started to charge.
He planned to be
a giant white barge.
I threw off rocks
at every last man.
Soon they were deader
than a pail full of sand.
One of the men had survived.
Garret was wired
by his warrior's blood.
Just then, the man, with his gun, fired.
I loosed of a rock
that hit the man in the head.
Garret reared up
and then fell dead.
I ran over to Garret
and he was cold as stone.
I then realized
that I was alone.
During the summer
of the following year,
I sat in my garden,
I kept shedding a tear.
I looked at his
fluffy old bed.
My thoughts went back to his body,
very cold and dead.
Later that day I heard
something among the trees.
My man-eating bunny had returned!
Brought back by the fairies.
With a cry i ran to him,
and gave him a huge hug.
He just looked at me and said,
"I'm back you big lug!"
And so this
ends my story.
Of my man-eating rabbit and me
on the planet Doshnory.
