Flowers for Mom - tissue warning!

Tomorrow I'll be going
to take flowers to my Mom
it will be a long drive
but she is worth it.

I'll tell her how much I love her
how much she means to me
sit and chat a while
about all the things we see.

How the kids are growing
and how they miss her so
they talk about her often
asking why she had to go.

Maybe she can give me
some answers for my kids
cuz I can only cry
each time they ask me why.

So, I'll take some Orange flowers
cuz that was your favorite color
and lay them softly by your grave
blow you a kiss to heaven,
wishing you a happy day.

I love you Mom!

The sentiment in this is wonderful, I will give you that freely. But it reads a lot more like a diary entry put into stanzas, than prose or poetry to me Perhaps ..well, I won't offer suggestions..but you did ask for critical review..so there you have it

oh, such a graceful poem that any mom would be proud of, but your mom is the lucky one to be the recipient of it. what especially touched me is the fact that your children ask about her, both my grandmothers died when i was really little and i remember asking my mom when we'd get to visit and she never knew how to answer me. this is a wonderful mother's day gift.

    BEAUTIFUL

Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece with me. I too have lost my mother. You really touched me very deeply, and yes..I did cry...I am not ashamed to admit it. This is so verybeautiful and a great tribute to all mothers everywhere. Always remember you only have one mother in this world, cherish the time you have with her. I had a long talk with my own mother before she died. It was out of the blue, but I sat her down and told her how much I loved her, and hoe much she meant to me. Thank you for this beautiful tribute

bah... im in tears... i just got a vision of my gran who died around 5-6 years ago..and i miss her so... its so sad to loose someone who you care for so much, but the worst is when you have never had the opportunity to meet them well and get to know them better, but at least your with the knowledge that they love you wherever they are and whatever they've been through... beutiful poem this one, loved it... keep writing

Very sad Tish, I am sorry you lost that wonderful person in your life, but you have all that she gave you and taught you, all the love she showered on you as a treasure hidden in your heart, her light continues to brighten your life I am sure.
Your poem makes me treasure my mother even more. Thanks for sharing. ((((((HUGS)))))

this was so beautiful! it literally brought tears to my eyes. its crazy how a person u love so much is there then gone like that isnt it, and must be even harder around holidays like this one, i have a friend who lost her mother in about the 4th grade, and her last words to her were "i hate you, i never wanna see you again..." its terrible, i never leave my mother or father or sister without letting them know how much i love and care for them. great write hun, keep it up, i loved this poem!
