Elephant Ride

I come into forest,
a high heel worm.
Drive my way through- bushes,
and meet the jungle man.

The jungle man, counts,
and calculates, a cost.
Picks my pocket, ah! So painful!
My doomed plight, no option but to,
empty everything.

A look to, watery eyes,
a tall monstrous creation stands in front.
Thoughts sprouts and Autumn arrives,
was I more forced than, questioning elephant?

Stares with blank eyes,
full of seas!
"Am I his master for today?"
Asking the god, whether he is,
to be enslaved by me, this day!

In acts I answered,
stepping proudly over him!
Cleaning my boots,
and giving a cold smile, curses on me!

Soon, it began to walk,
what an easy way to pass thorns!
I rest like a life in corpse,
and my brother, lifts my corpse,
to let it breathe air and water!

I see, diversity,
all running away! Am I so dreadful?
As if, my slave, screams,
"Run, or my master will ruin you!"

All squirrels run from my path,
they think I shall walk over them?
How shameful, what hell they think,
I know how to take steps, accurately,
but maybe never learned to walk!

And I with my boots on,
making wind lick my sweat,
go on and on, like fortunate handicap,
my slave, bleeds due to crowned thorns.

How easy god did it for me,
my loads are being carried by others.
And from birth, I go on, through heads,
but will I find anyone at the farewell?
To lift me then?

My poor dominance, why was I destined,
to be a master, not a slave?
I reach my destination, with shame smile
maybe elephant ate my repenting thoughts!

Welcome back! I love this vision and your wonderful words. "And I with my boots on,
    making wind lick my sweat,
go on and on, like fortunate handicap,
my slave, bleeds due to crowned thorns."

This is my favorite stanza, though the imagery and beauty weaves itself throughout the poem.

This is a very interesting poem to read! I love the picture. Is it of you or did you just like it? I thought the poem was full of lots of self contemplation about your place or the world or maybe the whole of humanity's place in the world. I think that we all wonder about how we fit in nature and I don't think there's any easy answer for it. But you did a good job of using images to express your thoughts about it here.

    Absolutely Beautiful...

The metaphors in this piece are amazing! The eighth stanza had me in awe. You pulled me into the jungle, the thorns tore at my flesh as I read this piece...I felt the pain of a heavy mind & heart.
    Congrats on a charming poem.

Thanks for the words again...I wonder if our skin pains in the thorns, how painful it could be for these elephants...thanks again

A wonderful, metaphoric-rich trek through a verdant jungle of philosophy!

Different, interesting in parts, not my usual type of read, however this held me to the end, It evoke sadness in me though as I read this, not sure if it is personal to you or not, it felt it....I interpret this as regret and some feelings of loneliness, especially at life's end...cleverly written using a nature metaphor...

    Love and smiles...

    Unique

I don't think i"ve ever read anything quite like this. I am pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure if I've read much of your work but now am intrigued to pursue it further. THe ideas and images woven here were original and seeming very personal. Having someone lift me then at farewell - that's quite a thought. That whole verse is amazing. I'm so glad you shared this in the reading list.

I tried to imagine you within your verses:
    ~
All squirrels run from my path,
they think I shall walk over them?
How shameful, what hell they think,
I know how to take steps, accurately,
but maybe never learned to walk!

Nice and interesting story, but it was a little bit longer for me, or maybe I am already to tired to read more. Anyhow, I like it. Nice part of nature is included in this poem.

Sorry, eh? No it isn't nature, it is all about the dominance (spell???) of human on the other creatures, his so called supremacy. But, the fact lies after the death...whose supreme and whose not shall be decided at the judgement day!

Wow. It's weird to read about a person that regrets they have not been enslaved. This piece is moving and filled with regret and self-loathing a bit. It seems to have been a very emotional elephant ride. Thanks for sharing. --->pixxie<---

thanks for ya words, but actually, the major regret is inside the stanza:

How easy god did it for me,
my loads are being carried by others.
And from birth, I go on, through heads,
but will I find anyone at the farewell?
      To lift me then?
