The stone is for protection, but she still can't erase the marks

It bears the appearance of a stone tablet
that carries the faded marks from each encounter
Most only see the stone,
and assume they know the truth
But with close evaluation you could read,
All the stories that made her this way.

    yay for this poem!
    everything just works wonderfully!
    "most only see..."
    isn't that the truth?
i love reading "all the stories..."
that is how you get to know people, how true friends emerge...

    loved the metaphor-
the title felt a little confusing,
and i don't know if it was necessary to have "read" twice in a row,
    but other than that,
    this is flawless

    thanks for entering
