there was no fight, no words exchanged
just a note you had slipped away
no hard feelings, no one was blamed
just your way to keep others at bay
through out life, time and time again
tossing away those who would care
so that you would feel nothing but pain
it seems it is the only feeling you can bare
family,friends, and lovers try in vain
but rarely do they get anywhere
May I suggest an invisiable friend
(on your team,in your corner)who by your side will stay
vows to be there beginning, middle and end
and who will never be pushed away (God knows you'll try)
a friend waiting in the shadow
to be of use when they can
who doesn't need much attention
just a friendly word now and then
