This year the weather got it right
With snow laid on the ground
December’s halfway over
Still time to shop around!
I left it late again this year
My annual tale of woe
Money rich and present poor
A week or less to go
Department store with xmas lights
Attracts my roaming eye
Goods abound upon the shelves
I can’t let this go by
The door is closing in my face
The doorman names my fear
‘This xmas stock is not for sale
We’re stocking for next year!’

i love it when it snows and its never christmas without it! my mum always leaves it late to buy christmas presents so is rushing round at the last moment every year, lol. i loved the poem because of the ryming scheme you had going on throughout, i also love your way with words

Last year, as soon as Christmas was over the shops where I live had Easter eggs in......in January.

Sometimes I'd like to keep Christmas
My impression is At Christmas we need snow on the ground enought o make it look like christmas. But yet we need to get around. my Emotional response is i am a late shopper, unless i have ideas early on and find them in fliers or a sales catlouge. I have troble walking in stores for very long.Well the Title is true Christmas does just come once a year, the winter weather is right,It is true that the stores would stock for next year.I don't understand about a door man unless you live in a compex that would have a doorman.I might have called it Too slow for Christmas.as i say to others i don't like being picky -

The doorman is the Store doorman, several higher class stores still have them to meet and greet important people.
