Those hundred eyes look down at me,
from the black abyss of infinity,
sparkling dazes sinking in deep,
on crushed grass, I sit and weep.
Oh life forms we look above,
with science, technology, and curious love,
Nothing has made us think further than light,
about stars that shine with beauty and might.
Decorating skies like a christmas tree,
But in the city's light and spree,
I can't see further than those street lamps,
That break my being from life connected by ramps.
Flat on my back I can't see them anymore,
Life is busy and just another bore,
Stars have become treats of deserts,
forests, hills, and wands of wizards.
I just wish I could see you everyday,
Not hidden by the blinding spark on the bay,
and the towering sky scrapers that kill the awe
Now I sit and the grass I'll gnaw...
