I think that, of all the crazy things I've done, you are the craziest.
I've stepped our on a limb before, but always kept a fast grip on a branch of reality.
For every 2 steps forward, I got to leaps behind and turned left twice so now, I'm headed a whole new direction.
I’m off course and I never saw this coming.
I never saw you. We could have passed by each other on the street a thousand times and after a smile and a nod, I never gave a second thought.
But you did.
You looked back at me when I was still going on my dedicated journey.
I have given up taking the time to smell the flowers and now just grab one on the way; letting its spirit die as its color drew attention to my eyes when I tucked it behind my ear.
You looked when I wasn’t looking, you saw before there was something to see.
And here we are, your arms outstretched as you look toward the ceiling.
My head on your shoulder as I examine your face.
How could I have not noticed before and how do all the things that are the same now look and feel different.
There no longer is hesitation in my eyes, just the hope that what had never crossed my mind will always be.
