I set my sights on higher wings
and leave behind those made of gold
to tradse my thoughts for better things,
as did the warriors of old.
The winds despise the silver trace
and abhorr wings of molten vein
but wings of gossamer and lace
they carry higher yet again.
Shall Daedalus form my winged frame?
Shall Crete contain me ere I fly?
Are the Greek and I just the same?
Or are we both comdemned to die?
The wind, the rain,
tell yet again
the lines for which men died.
And on the night
I lost my flight
I lost my heart, and cried.
The diamonds of state
mean nothing to me,
the jewels of a crown
will ne'er set me free.
Oh, for wings of light!
Would I regain my flight?
The wings of silver
that brought me hither
are no longer worth what they were before
and the carv'ed wing
of which I sing
is something now which all men abhor.
Did we lose our flight when our wings turned to stone?
Were our wings taken from us as we left the Throne?
Did we taste the forbidden fruit
and find our greatest desire?
Or did we lose our suit
and plunge into the fire?
In taking the prize
we paid a high price.
We gave up our wings
to become like the King:
we failed.
We are fallen to earth
and ever since our birth
we have been tainted and ailed.
Was it ever worth our flight
for the knowledge of evil and right?
I think not.
Author notes
This is comparing our pre-Lapsarian bond with God to flying. When we ate the forbidden fruit, we lost our flight and out innocence. But we will one day fly again!!

Amazing feature of wisdom
Good things always remain in life that lights our pathway in this journey, we know the knowledge of what is right and evil. And let us be aware of it. Thank you for this beautiful wisdom.
