The wicked try to do you in,
beguile you with lust and sin.
Know your strengths, limitation,
wickedness, a realization.
Silent vigils to fight attacks,
find quietude when goodness lacks.
Let solace sooth upon your bed,
remember on the cross He bled.
The Lord can lift your spirits high,
help face temptation eye to eye.
Peaceful thoughts of serenity,
each sin will bring a penalty.
Rest your head and clear your mind,
His spoken words and love shall bind.
There is no greater task to meet,
to face your sins in their defeat.
In righteousness rewards are great,
in silent prayer we compensate.
Please help me Lord, I know I must,
do what is right, do what is just.
Author notes
I chose option #2
Be angry, and do not sin.
Meditate within your heart on your bed, and
be still.'
(NKJV Psalm 4:4)

"Let solace sooth upon your bed"
If I am God's own creation, then where is the explaination my worth? The groanings of the soul speak to God when we are tongue is glued to the palate unable to speak. Does faith come with age?
I read your poem and thought. What more could a person request? Thanks for noting your choice of scripture and for entering. -

good poem
I like this a lot. It is very beautifully written. I noticed one thing, though. The first four stanzas are written in second person, and then it shifts suddenly into first person. Who are you talking to in the first part? Nevertheless, a good write.

remember on the cross He bleed?
Perhaps proof reads are what we need.
As only God is perfect, that might have been intentional.
Otherwise a perfect expression of faith. Congratulations -
