Here I am again, Lord, for thousandth time
tired and beaten, covered in all sorts of grime.
And all I can do now is collapse here at your feet
just content that you still love me with a love so sweet.
Lord, I am trying my hardest to just get it right,
But I swear, sometimes I think I'm losing this fight.
Because it breaks my heart to be out there day after day
To see all their pain, and know I can't make it go away.
But I know you love them, and that You've been here too.
You walked here among us, here in this world so askew.
You faced the temptations, and you've felt the pain.
You know all the mountains and valleys, the exciting and mundane
Tomorrow, I'll start over, if you'll guide my way,
Because I'll need you again, to make sure I don't go astray.
But tonight, Lord, my prayer is to just rest here beside You,
Safe in my Refuge, my Mediator, my Lord so faithful and true.

This is an absolutely wonderful poem. It is so peaceful and sweet and tender. The love, trust and faith you speak of here is just quietly stated, so factual. I love your wording, like falling at his feet just happy that he loves you. And at the end when you say that your prayer is just to rest here beside him. Wonderful job with this one. -
