The Hardest Part of Love

A quick touch of your hand and I draw back,

my heart and mind are still scarred and black,

For the love that I've always lacked,

He said he loved me, but it became clear that he'd never love me as much as you my dear.

I want to trust you and give you my all,

But the hardest part of love is the fall.

What if you don't catch me and I just meld with all those who have fell before?

I can see it in your eyes how much you need me, just as much as I need you,

But please baby I'm so scared of losing you.....

Please I beg you, don't let us fade to black,

For I hope that you know I'll always come back,

This was written for my new boyfriend.  He is a great man, who makes me want to love again and be open and receptive to an emotion I've tried to shut off for the last several months.

    Such a very honest and emotion-packed piece filled with tenderness. I hope things work out for you in the best of ways with your boyfriend. It's always nice to have someone there beside you to support, love and help you through good, bad and indifferent days in life. Great write with good flow, rhyme and just enough of a hint of inferred sadness that it came out just right!
