The girl can't find the words
that should be her profound statement
it all seems so absurd
and the people just walk by
She says hello
they smile and pass
and fall
and fade
and die
These folk are not on her pages
she can't describe their grace
they're too simple to say
it's too easy to ignore
She can't write
how they tower
and spin
and spaz
and die
This work will be so great so pure
these people that don't fill the pages
it will give her name hope
the people will say hello
She walks by
to a place to be
and count
and create
and die
These pages will be blank long after
this astounding work of genius
it will lay on table tops
the people will look
She learns to rest
to be alright not to write
and help
and hope
and die
