I'm sorry my depression is ruining your life

I’m falling up from this
and you’ve been no help.
It’s too hard,
I know,
and I never told you
but I find it comforting
that you can’t ever be counted on.
(now best friend
means biggest letdown).
and we both accepted
that you don’t want
to be that person.
arguments over how
you’re letting me
push away and I spill
that this distance is comforting.
you’re scared by my
ideas of suicide
and I can’t be strong for you
so this space between
our words and intentions grows
and we stop pretending that anyone will help.
it’s better this way,
me drenched in apathy,
you choosing ignorance.
if I sink back,
I’ll know not to let myself need
this time.

Author notes

"best friend" means so little.

This is so sad and is something that I realise about most of my friends ages ago, so instead of letting myself fall I just chose not to bother them with it in the first place. Learn to love yourself first, it's hard and will take time, but you'll start to get better if you do.

thank you. it's not ignoring but it's something like that. all my friends would fall into that category, so i guess i don't have any friends worth keeping.

    Great poem.

They aren't your friend if they're ignoring you. They should be helping you and wanting you to feel better.

If you're having thoughts of suicide, please tell someone and get help! Life will get better.

Boy-Is-Depressed is right for the most part. You do have to rely on yourself more than you rely on anyone else, but if you do get to the point where you simply can't hack it anymore, don't be stupid: find the help you need. And when you are as well healed as you can be, then go back to running your life as much on your own as possible, and you'll be fine. I told someone once that things may or may not get better, but they CAN get better, so why quit and not even give yourself and things a chance? - ocerus

the best thing u can do...is accept yourself...believe me...accept yourself how u are...as Vile As ugly as u may think u are...just accept it...dont try to fix your problems...try to cope with them...if u wanna no what i mean read wut i wrote 2nite...coping is much more realistic the fixing your problems...and u cant count on other ppl...u can only count on urself
