isn't silent
and darkness
is unkind
and shadows stalk
the deepest soul
and hearts
are hard to find
When the devil
dances in the street
and angels
fear to tread
and life
is for the dreamers
while the skeptics
are all dead.
When our souls
are at their darkest
and the meek
cannot be heard.
Chaos comes
to claim the day
and poets
rule the world.

Awesome rhyme and flow and I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments. We give up our souls to the world if they would read and listen. Well done.

A great piece. I'm sure so many people on this site will be able to relate. I particularly enjoyed the subtle rhyme in this poem.
My favourite part would have to be where you said "life is for the dreamers while the skeptics are all dead." Very powerful.
Thanks for featuring.

Oh, this is lovely. "When silence isn't silent and darkness is unkind." Your words drew in completely. This poem is a wonder. Thank yo

if poets did rule the world...the certain people would be out of a job. because we would say the truth...and others would have to abide by it...unlike certain politicians today!
Well said!
Keep penning on one stroke at a time!

Dear poetess, a write teeming with emotions and notions,it communicates well and keeps a good pace and flow.No typo's spotted and no suggestions to make.A well written ,thought provoking piece of poetry, ahh,if poets ruled the world they may make a better job of it than the politicians but there again they may not, instead of republicans and democrats we may have freeverse and form candidates, if there was a war the form poets would arrange their troops in strict formation and not deviate, they wouldn't give a haiku or a cinquainn for anything else whilst the freeverse party would assemble meaningfully but in no particular order, ooh imagine that, sorry kinda let my imagination run riot with this, well done, love and light,Yvette
