Outside the realm of human life,
beyond the margins, another world exists;
a world of subtle, and sometimes savage, beauty.
In the airless ocean depths, life teems, unaware
of our meaningless complexities, our futile dreams.
In ancient woodlands, tinged by timelessness,
small animals rustle and scamper, busily
pulling the strand of nature around them
with instinctive purpose; while birds add
their choral harmonies to the orchestra of life.
The intricate and splendid diversity of insects,
spiders, bats and whales; wild flowers
and weeds; trees and termites and the dance
of microbes in a drop of water--all these,
which we seem intent on destroying.
"And God so loved the world."
When will we learn to love it also?

I'm pleased to see several trophies on this wonderful penning of yours, Bill. I especially liked the first line of your second stanza, for its smoothness of alliteration. Congrats on your wins, my Friend.

Thank you for subjecting yourself to my review. I really like this poem. You have created some very vivid images with your words. I agree with you. Beauty can be found almost anywhere in nature.

Wonderfully written words of the beauty of nature and the need to protect it. Your imagery is quite lovely and your lines speak to the heart. It's sad to it dwindling away around us. Very prolific message. Thanks for your entry!

Love it Bill!! Being raised Native American I was taught to love and respect all natures beautys and the life they hold. Also being brought up strong in faith, I was taught value all the Lord has given us in what would have been paradise if not for sin. It is truely sad to see what has been done.. I love the write

Amazing Work.
Amazing. I truly enjoyed this. The thoughts it provokes are deep and intense and realistic. I love the way you described such normal, nearly every day things, and made them seem ethereal. My favorite line was "In ancient woodlands, tinged by timelessness" That was extremely well worded. Even after giving us all of this beautiful imagery, you still ended strongly with a very smooth ending. I like this a lot. You've done very well. -
Superb
These are excellent words. The last line really drives your point home: "When will we learn to love it also?" I hope it's soon, or we will have a lot of destruction and sorrow. Great write. Peace will come ...
