Intimacy

Your arms enfold me,
As my head leans back,
Resting gently on your shoulder,
The winter sun shining down on us.

Our hands intertwined,
Resting on my lap,
Our fingers gently meandering
Through territories well known,
Caressing each curve of the others hands.

You kiss my cheek,
Evoking such calmness,
To spread so eloquently
Through my heart and soul.

This is what intimacy means.

Both parties comfortable,
Happy to just talk,
Enjoying each others company.
Not overwhelmed with sensual desire,
Just fuelled by a passionate will
To spend time together.

This is freedom.

Author notes

I'm slowly letting my guard down again. Letting myself love.
