To Serve

When I was young I often wondered
Why do I exist
My father said it best to me
So I'll share it now with all

We exist to serve one another
Be it the poorest or the richest among us
God sent his son for this purpose
And that's why he made us

To serve each other on this world
Regardless of our color
To serve a lover, to serve a child
To serve a friend in need

We are here to serve those
Who are in need the most
To serve our country
To die if needed, I am here to Serve

So I'll just wait till the aliens get here

And then they can serve us

For dinner, Breakfast or a snack

To them we may be delicious

Author notes

I do believe the first part,  THe last is something we all wonder at onetime or another. When isit going to be my turn,  I'm not waiting I'll be glad to serve you much longer

Awesome, thank you for your service.

Very wise words your father left for you. They ring the truth on every level. Got a little chuckle out of your ending. I serve you. What do you want to be breakfast, lunch or dinner? Ooops, I'm not an alien, or am I? Best wishes in the contest.
