In the Land of Shiraih women are known for their gifted powers
Each possesses the power of the realm, some more than others
Only one every thousand years comes to light the realm with her gift
Born of the darkness she bares the hopes of all
The people of Shiraih, magical and human bow before her
Only a child when she arrives her heart longs for love
The child of Music, she is The Muse, the bringer of music
Dancing her stories and singing her legends she gifts people with hope
In a flurry of colors she is like the free wind of the west
Her mind is on only that of one love, a dark haired goddess
She will be the companion of the Dark born one
Destiny entertwined together by the strings of fate
Grown into a dark blossom she graces people with wise words
Her seventeenth birthday the Muse graces her life
She finds her entranced by the beauty of one, the pure truth
The Muse wrapped in her silk veils, the darkness sets in
Bringing her into her arms she takes them away to the realm beyond
Alone in the realm where the Lady of Darkness was born
The Muse finds her own inspiration in those two deep eyes
"You are the dark haired goddess of my visions," She speaks
The Lady of Darkness bows for the first time
"And you are the Muse, beautiful and untamed,"
In a sweet embrace they unite two souls into one,
a bond created before time ever began
Alone in the world of Shiraih, fate would not be kind
Many suitors wish for the Lady's hand in marriage
People hope to use her power for their own push her forward
Crying tears of black diamonds she hears the screams of her only love
In a vision of her own fortold future
Taking on her last role she walks down the long black carpet of eternity
Bound to a man she had no interest in she tried to explain her choice
The Muse would have nothing to do with the Lady
Crying in shame of her own heart she ran away, to the ends of Shiraih
To wait forever in desolute darkness as she awaited fate's cruel end
The Lady in her year as a wife, bore no children,
for she chose to stay pure as the white snow until she was able to love
Leaving the capital she set out on her own for her love
Unknown to her brave heart the dark evil followed
To the ends of Shiraih she travelled, with only her heart to guide her
She found her feet wandering the desert sands, time slowing down
Into a single cave, home to the desert dwellers of legend
There in the midst was The Muse in all her glory, dancing, singing
The Lady stood with tears of happiness, her hands clasped
She would not break this beautiful scene, so turning she meant to leave
A sweet voice called out to her and with one last bit of hope she turned
There in all her wise beauty was the Muse, her hand extended
"Will the Lady grace me with a dance?" She asked as she smiled.
The Lady bowed and took her hand into her own
Dancing as if across the heavens, through the stars and into the night
Forgetting the world around them, forgetting what fate had written
In one single kiss the powers of two different worlds bonded again
The night was no longer feared, the sun was no longer eclipsed
Only in bare skin, the only sound echoing, their hearts beating
Drop away from the fantasy back into the reality
Plagued once again by the dark visions of death the Lady cries out
The Muse wraps her in song and velvet as she comforts, promising
"I'll never leave you love, never ever," She kisses a cold forehead
The Lady feels the evil rising in the east, feels the torn energies
Rising from the velvet she turns to her love
"Come with me, come and help me set right the wrong,"
The light and dark dance together in a flurry of songs and colors
Their arrival celebrated with the festival to end all others
Though in the background the evil stirs awake
Angered husband and disgruntled advisors feel their power slipping
No longer is the Lady a child but a grown woman of the Darkness
And along her side the Wind of The West, The Muse
Stirring to rid the world of their only trouble
In hopes to send the Lady into a pit of complete darkness
They plan to end the only light that counters the dark
To bring down the Muse and her beautiful gift
Slipping a silver dagger, burned with the emblem of evil
Into the pocket of the husband, he descends unto the festival
Taking the Lady into his arms he turns to plunge the dagger into the Muse
Dead silence, the world pauses and time becomes chaos
Before the Muse stands the Lady, her blood spilled
The evil dagger burns away into ash, her power taking complete control
Her spirit erupting in the last moment of true power
The evil that hides in the shadows dies with one last scream
Time begins its slow descent back into order as snow begins to fall
Pure white it touches the wound of the Lady
Her black tears sliding down her cheeks as she speaks
"My love, my muse hold tight to your beautiful soul, I will come for you once again. I will love you forever,"
With one last kiss she closes her eyes to the world
The anguish of the Lady lost in the cries of her people
The silent plea for this to end in one lonely heart
The brightness of the sun stands alone, alone with out the moon
Encircling her love with her velvets she walks forward
People of all classes comes to pay their respect
Kisses upon her hands, upon her face and feet
In the snow, alone the Muse bids farewell to the darkness into flesh
The Lady's body gone with the wind that carried her in
The white snow baring the drops of blood of love
With only eyes of hope the Muse blows a kiss to the Wind of The West
Holding tightly to the promise of the Lady
"I will wait,"
Milleniums later, in a world so different
The Muse walks along the road of a city so new
When a single cool breeze and flakes of snow blow in
A figure dressed all in white comes forward
Deep eyes and dark hair holds the past, the promise
"My love I've come back,"

An epic indeed
very nicely done, got lost in the story, loved the characters and loved the captivating style. thanks for entering and good luck. -
Hmmm. I really like the plot. The never ending love, through the ages. With the promise to return. Beutiful and at the core of the word poetic. Though I feel that there was an underlying hate. But I really don't know what I'm talking about. Beatiful work, but I can't say that it is poetry. It is a story that is more poetic than 95% of the actual poems on this site. Great job.
