Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep…
Vanilla scented candles
Give off the darkest flame
A small, neglected child
Is listening to the rain
Her round, angelic face
Has been tortured by the marks
That her mother has left upon her
She trembles in the dark
Under a pile of blankets,
As her tears begin to fall
She remembers how it felt
To be thrown against the wall
The bleeding wounds on her cheeks
From those jagged rings
Her heart still pounding from the fear
What will tomorrow bring?
There is nothing she can do
Except roll out of bed
Kneeling, she puts her hands together
And bows her pretty head
"Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take..."

It is so so so so so good. I love it. It is amazing, but so sad, but so incredibly awesome. Wow, an abused child, I can totally relate. But WOW. It is truly beautiful.
