Thank you for giving.

It wasn't the pain, or the guns, or gore.

It wasn't for fun, what their fighting for.

Nor thoughts of home that brought pain to their eyes.

neither to watch as a regimen dies.

It was for our freedom they did this task.

Brothers and Grandpas and Father's we ask.

To give their lives so that we can stand free,

To be anything that we want to be.

I stand and salute you this Veterans day,

Honouring men that brought freedom our way.

Thank you for giving your life all to save,

The Land of the free, the Home of the Brave.

    Excellent

Very Good Mamabekaboo. I think that more people should show their honor and respect for our servicemen and women.

This is a very touching tribute to the men and women who have sacrificed, bled and died for our liberty. We all need to remember to thank them for all that they have done.
    God bless you

Thanks so much for the sweet comment. I have great honour for our veterans. My grandpa and all of his brothers served in the Army. I have many pictures of this. Great idea for a contest.
