Sleeping Beauty
Without the grace
A dazed, gormless look
spread wide across your face
That little patch of drool
trickling onto your pillow edge
Sunrise illuminates the cans
left lying on your window ledge
Sleeping Beauty
To me somehow different now
Yet my appreciation still grows but how?
Your gassy morning noises
are more then a girl can take
But I can't help but smile
at each vulgar noise you make
Sleeping Beauty
You never lay still
Your arms fling back and forth
like a bloody windmill
Hogging all the duvet
as you turn from side to side
I long for you like no other
but your bedtime habits I abide
Sleeping Beauty
Never twitched in her sleep
But you wriggle around
Like a Caterpillar stuck in a compost heap
Sleeping Beauty
Its sweet when you smile
I know those dirty dreams your having
are moving the covers upwards by a mile
Sleeping Beauty
Breaths heavily at night
But snoring and gurgling in my direction
never made it all alright
