Slivers of what once was, what can't be,
Undermined in the looming black. Rooted,
Frozen in place, to watch that time pass. No
Freedom in sight, no welcome hands to grasp.
One moment, bright, only to flail in
Choking darkness, all consuming. Your
Angst-ridden emotions, washed away by a
Truly deeper pain. Look within to find your heart
Impaled upon hatred, as slowly, the
Nemesis of hope drags you under. His only
Goal, to see you suffer. Tears stain,
Inviting evil's lurking hand. Has your existence been
Negated to temptations of the devil ? The
Demon's call, ever stronger, no will to fight. The
Angel of Death, watching from the shadows. Has
Reality evaded me? Heartbeats echoing in your ears,
Knowing there is no escape. The lingering
Night, your companion as you find yourself
Swallowed in the raging storm...your soul,
Suffocating in darkness...as you whisper, "Help me!"
