heaven

Mid- February golden yellow sunshine
Smiles haughtily at agonizing, brown meadows,
Desperate trees bow their heads helplessly
Listening to the cries of once lush gardens,
Sadly watching their blooms wilt and die.
Parched and cracked mother earth whimpers in pain,
God! I need water, please send precious rain.

Under the scorching cover of blue
Hungry animals walk delicately on fire stones
To graze on sun-kissed grass
Thirsty cattle wet their scorched lips in
Roaring rivers now silence by drought
And a tropical paradise cries out in great pain
God, we need water, please send us precious rain.
