Jaded

These folded sheets
and cold hard kisses
so far away
this idea of true romance
ask yourself
what have we become?
Dark night skies
hard leather seats
and heavy shades of black
Ideas morph
as the world sets in motion
an idea in black and white.
True love and emotion
lies and fragments
our views are so polluted.
What have we become
contemplate this view
see what we sink to
exactly what they want.
Love is so jaded
hope so forgotten
feelings cloud judgment
and truth gets in the way
of the ultimate decisons.
We aren't supposed to think
we are just supposed to do.
Hold me down
pull me close
do what you want
I am powerless to your touch.
Tonight have your way
I am just your game
your fancy for this evening.
This is what we have become
so polluted in thinking
this is what romance is all about.
this is what we think
that sex can heal everything.

Author notes

Media portrays sex
as the ultimate form of love
I think it's the fastest way to ruin relationships!

yeah I am sorry it's a little blunt
I have had some bad experiences... and its ruined my views about what we can really define love by.
I guess yeah it may differ to other people.
I am glad you like the poem though
thanks for taking the time to read and leave a thoughtful comment

i agree and disagree with your final comment... it is only your view on what sex is to you... people use it for their own advantage and sick will... some dont use it at all... and it saddens me when young girls have sex with their men just to make up for something they did wrong.... so sorry honey... great poem.. i love it and im sorry you have that view
