Goodbye

Hello mommy, I see you laying face down on the bed.

Your chest moves not, I wonder why?

Where has daddy gone?

Why is your skin turning blue?

Mommy?

Mommy?

Why aren't you breathing?

What is that smell?

Smoke?

We don't have a fireplace do we?

Mommy, I'm afraid, so very afraid.

Too many people in little crossed hats.

They won't go away!

They stole you away!

Mommy!

Don't let them put you in that drawer!

Mommy!!

I...I didn't even get to say goodbye...

Author notes

An old poem, wrote it back in Oct., but I'm just now posting it. Basically, the death of a kid's mother. The woman was strangled and the man lit the place up. Kid was found and taken to the hospital, and wondered why they put his mom in a morgue. Finally found out she was dead, and cried his goodbye.
