Listen when I'm Silent

close your eyes

press your body against the window to my heart
press your cheek against the glass
run your fingers over the lock

and listen...

until you hear me

can you hear me?

I don't usually go for short poetry, but this is beautiful. Good job! I'll even give you an applause!

This captures a lot for me. I'm not the best listener in the world, but I try to at least be a caring, if not good one. But basically doing what you have described here, I have heard some pretty heart-wrenching stories; stories that I wish I never had to hear. But I wouldn't trade it for the world, because helping someone else share a burden makes it worthwhile. Anyway, man, this is great work; I love your stuff. Keep it up!
