Pigeon Eyes

Another night waiting impatiently to devour
My body with it’s skeleton hands,
As I lay down on the bed laid just for me
While he stands laughing at me, gawking
With blood shot eyes, tormenting
Ripping me of bit by bit into minute pieces
My spirit is drenched with vulgarity
My soul contaminated with his unspoken filth
Not a word, just mourning, deafening my inner self to death
He while obliviously is dragging me around
I try steal away my broken soul
Slipping my body under his sweaty palms
Quickly realizes, pulls me back for his pleasure
He strips me off with his claws, I shut my pigeon eyes
I’m not there, it’s not happening
I repeat words but all in futile
For the pain is alive, kicking, punching
While the black cat pounces, scratching
Pouncing, scratching until needs a break
Short one indeed, for he’s now ready again
I’m all curled up, blood is slowly sprouting
On the new warm bed sheet, it’s red
With tepid blood of mine
The sound of ceiling fan, getting louder and louder
A moth is buzzing the tune to the brute
Bravo! Bravo! Applauds, well done indeed
Proved it, you are the best fiend
Created with perfection, no mistakes
You can do it all over again
For you are up for a second round
I am screaming, but inside
Curled up, tears frozen
I’m numb, for now I’m all use to
To reckless twinge inflicted upon
Night after night, scuffing off my dreams
Within an entrapment he created specially for me
Sucking succulent air from my lungs
Until I evaporate completely, as if I never existed
Then inflate me back to the size during daylight
Feed me, make me fleshy and luscious
For I have yet again, malevolence to see, to feel in dim lights
Be stripped naked, not just body, but my soul
And living hemorrhaging spirit
While I prepare once more, to close my pigeon eyes, tight
For the rest of the night
I’m married to him; he’s the master, preeminent
My master, who knows best
To slaughter me without a knife, no device needed
Only his wicked self trained well,
Pushing me deep into his quagmire until bubbles stop popping
His signed contract with the all mighty sovereign devil
Is lucratively concluded, his work his now done
Deep I am drowned

It's terrible for someone whom claims to love you can do something like this... I love the use of metaphors in this piece. It also came to mind how clever it was to use the image of yourself as a bird, then refer to him like a cat (claws and all). I thought about it and saw that a cat will attack any bird to devour it, taunt it, mock it then eat it whole and destroy it. Great metaphors and sorry you had to go through such abuse... I'm glad it's over for you.

Thank you for your encouraging words. After I'd written and read over and over again, I knew why I had not written this before and now I think I shouldn't have chosen to do so. But here it is. Thanks again, a critique coming from a very well balanced talented poet as yourself, means a lot.
