I store inside this memory chest
A record of the years
To keep alive past hopes and dreams
The smiles and the tears
Each scene recalls some happy day
Perhaps an absent friend
A hopeful day or task begun
As a weary journey's end
As I turn these pages one by one
My life I live anew
I feel a thrill of days gone past
The hand of someone I knew
This is my vale of memories
A treasured memory chest
A record of all my yester-years
Of those I loved the best.
