The Lone Cry

Looking around this life of mine
Thinking back on the hard times
The lessons that turned out fine

Thinking of times of fear
Times I would have done anything
Anything to feel someone near

Because being alone is utter blackness
And it places bricks on your heart

Remembering being trapped in that muddy pit
Being unable to see through the hazy cloud
Longing for a gentle breeze to clear my mind for a bit

My soul echoed the lone cry of a wolf
Knowing those I love are out there somewhere
I hear the voices of my loves like the clop of distant hooves

I know I am loved
My friends have been sent from above

I was not forgotten in this place
My cry was not lost in the moaning wind
I am rapped in a warm embrace.

    Really Good!

Boy, I sure like this! It's very descriptive, and ends with the truth... even though those empty "feelings" are there, we're not alone.
