There are too many days
in the year – colorful and unadorned
collar bones and turtle necks
Hidden but every one can see
Your eyes glow with the moon
rolling over, rapidly looking away
to eclipse itself blame
but so lovely Autumn
fingers interlocked
as you turn off the light switch
the wind is cold and settles
loud storms and silent rain
stealing the shine from existence
autumn hue collapses from refinement
nude arms extended
frozen in beauty
the clouds wept
and saw what happened
contorting reality to pretend
it’s sort of protection
there was red
in the snow
(and there’s no such thing as
Love and hate in the same sentence)
