When you get what you want but not what you need
When you don't get either and your soul slowly bleeds
As you starve to death and watch your own decay
When you once were lost but now know the way
But you stay in that one place every day
When you want what you get but not what you need
When hopelessness sends out a softened plea
As your heart turns colder and feels like stone
and again you face the day and night all alone
You wait and pray and feel confused
So much inside and outside goes unused
There is no light, no sound, no pulse
When you get what you want but not what you need
And that tall grass bends over and goes to seed.

I like this one. The line repetition is almost like a villanelle. The rhyme scheme works well, and the last line ties it all together.

An excellant write. You have my empathy. If you choose, you might like to read my poem Depression/Transition, which shows why I have empathy for your situation. -
I really like it. It's so full of emotions even though it is a shot write. You captured the feeling beatifully. Great job
