Smack-dab in the middle

I loved him from the start
But he never showed his heart
So i gave up in the end
And tried to move on

I met a new he
And he made me flee
I was slowly moving on
And i was almost in his arms

But shortly after this
My old came slowly back
My heart began to open
My wound was now unspoken

Pulled in all directions
My heart began to bleed
My old love came to help me
My new was lost in thought

So now im reunited
My old is now my life
My new is torn to pieces
And my heart is still ripped apart

My old is much in love with me
My new is very much the same
I love my old
I love my new
But the love for the new is not the same

I love him like a friend
He loves me even more
I want to make him understand
I dont want to be that way

My old is worried
I am very sorry too
I'll never leave him
And i'll always be his

Its just my new cant let go
Therefore i'm held back
And i'm smack-dab in the middle
