In Remembrance of Grandma
(18 June 2006)
A manicured garden
of colored, cultured roses
now goes untended.
For Marguerite has been freed
of all mortal constraint;
left behind
is a silver trowel
and dancing shoes,
as her spirit flies
to the Hawaiian shore
for pirouetting barefoot
on the seashell sand.
Goodbye Grandma Massa; I miss you already.

well
It definitely could have been better, but of course it's not really what i think its what you think. If that was your best portrait of your grandma then it couldn't have been worded any better. Not the best but good. Try using stronger more powerful words, maybe a little longer to. just not enough emotion in my opinion -
im sorry for your loss

I´m sorry for your loss. It´s so painful to lose a beloved person. Your poem is well written, it touched me.

This is really, really beautiful. I am very close to my Grandmother. (See my poem "My First Best Friend) She hasn't died yet, but the thought lingers on the back of my mind.

I am so sorry for your loss

This is a very nice tribute to your grandma; thank you so much for sharing and for being a part of our contest! -
It's a very sweet poem. Thanks for entering my contest. I can imagine how hard it would be to lose a grandmother. We never really understand why God does the things he does sometimes, but if we keep looking up things will be okay. I like the line "of colored, cultured roses". It's intriguing. Good luck!

Peace n Love

This poem is pretty sweet. An awesome tribute to a passed on grandmother. Its hard to loose someone you love, especially a grandparent. I don't have any grandparents left, besides grandpa on my mom's side. I lost my grandmother a couple years ago, and its still pretty hard hitting. I miss her like crazy, even though I finally understand why she had to go. I guess it was God's know. No--I don't guess, I know it was God's will that she be in her eternal home.
Many blessings to you,
Jae Chelle
