The first sun in the morning
penetrates my room, waking me..
like an old farmer with no fields to tend
I rise with the excitement of a littly boy
greeting another day of play
I say your name
The star is crimsom today, climbing slowly
filling the trees, with a warm amber glow..
All around, the world wakes with me
I sit outside, sipping coffee
dressed in the first things I could find at hand
flanel pants and a sweatshirt, that proclaims..
"Whatever"
Whatever shall I do with the days
that each contain a number, known by my Master
Whom shall share my days.. I wonder
A doe and fawn drink with me.
My flying friends, who no longer fear me
dine on the seeds I left the night before
My favorite Maple is fully aglow now,
almost brillant orange..
A wonderous contrast to the blue of the sky
reflected deeply off the lake below.
Who but God could create this day for me?
The same friend, who spared my life so long ago
If you ever come close to death,
you will never forget again, how alive you really are
So I sit here, pondering the day
I will use to add to my story.
Writing my life thru acts created, day from day
And thinking...
of my last words to you
before we gave away, yesterday
"Our Farther, who art in Heaven"
I wake again loving my life.. and You
