Forever My Friend
A winding path, well traveled and worn,
journey began the day we were born.
Did we meet by fate or by chance,
soon came the day we started to dance.
Holding my hand, walking together,
side by side in all kinds of weather.
Sun shined bright in the beginning,
happiness had, our gray clouds thinning.
Trying hard not to stumble and fall,
we did not expect to hear love call.
All we wanted was friendship to last,
share our burdens and pain from the past.
Strong feelings set in and hearts grew fond,
we did not see the gray clouds beyond.
We stumbled and fell but made it through,
as we looked ahead, a patch of blue.
Sunshine has returned, shining so bright,
now we hold hands, walk in friendship's light.
No greater gift found, then a friend that's true,
I am blessed my friend, my gift was you.

I chose the quote- Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend
This is for a very special forever friend. I am blessed with many dear friendships. I shall cherish each and every one for they are blessings from God to help us with our walk here on Earth.

What a great definition of friendship and love. Be it romantic love or other types of love such as friendship or nurturing as a mother's love etc...You did a marvelous job with your choice of words here.One was gripped from beginning to end with this amazing tribute you wrote to your friend!!! A job well done!!!This is very inspirational and uplifting to read and it made me think of "real" friendships I have had and still have today and how I could find a way to remain in touch with them or just let them know how special they are to me. I loved this... Filled with emotion... I loved these few lines...

wow this was really good... i hope the best for you and your friend and dont let something so great end in hate.. no matter what hold on to your good friend... i held on to mine and we are closer than ever.. that was after a two year relationship... good does come out of hurt sometimes.. be true to yourself and i wish the best of luck for the two of you... love is such a powerful feeling
