Spooky

The cold wind whistled
Through the tree
Howling softly
But calling to me
Full moon bright, by darkness of night
Things out there,To give you a fright.

Ghost and goblins,
Black alley cats
No headed riders,
Witches and bats
Big black pots, filled with witches brew
Darkness and cob webs, to frighten you

Don't be alarmed
It's just in fun
You see a mummy
And start to run
Frankenstein's monster, Bluebeard's ghost
Pack of wolves howling, what you fear the most

Beware the zombies
The walking dead
Don't you let them
Get into your head
Don't be alarmed by what you have seen
It's only "Spooky" because it's Halloween!

A well written piece, flowed well, imagery good and overall a splendid Halloween poem for children as the imagery isn't macabre and the voice of the poetry encourages them to join in but to be aware it's make believe and therefore not to be too scared.A trick and a treat inside a poem in fact, well done and good luck in the contest, love and ligh,Yvette

I really enjoyed this one. Halloween is, I belive, mostly for children. And, too, the spooky at heart. I can see this poem being read by by a grade school teacher to her students as they delight with glee!
