~~My Cottage Home~~

Missing image
Home such sweet words,
As i sit and ponder my muse,
For they tell of simple joys
The ones i like most to choose...
For home is my safe haven
When the lights are soft and low,
Where my cares are unburdened
And peace is good to know...
It's the dearest place on earth,
A refuge from the storm,
Hearts that share in kinship
And reflect on memories warm...
Home such sweet words,
It speaks to me of rest,
Where life's simple pleasures
Are at their very best~

Thank-you for writing this, it is wonderful and
charming. Flows so well and feels nice when said
out lout. It sounds/feels Amish or Quaker, old world
    old values...substantial, real.
    i LOVE it.

    Feels like Home

Susen, you paint a picture with words that not many can. You feel what we all do and put it into words we all can understand. So much comes from the home both good and bad, you have captured very well those things that mena the most. 4 stars good job.

The type of poem to print out and keep in a special place. A sense of peace descends over the reader and keeps them warm and fuzzy for a long time.

I love it! Your poetry always paints just the right mood.

Very Good Write! Peaceful and warm....home is where the heart is. I once had a home....but the people who made it a home...were gone....my heart asn't there....so I traveled to a place where my heart could start anew. And it did, and it has, and now it's home. ~Bud~

    do not touch

Wonderful ! You know we do a lot of travelling , have been many places , seen beautiful things. But if it all comes down to it , HOME is still the place my heart never leaves , as you mentionned....it is my muse. It is my comfort and it is my escape from the troubled word. I can turn on my music.........and I can let my hair down. I can be ME. I am HOME

This is one of your best constructed poems, susan... If home is where when you go there, they have to take you in--it is also this place that you describe so well...

    awwwwwwwwwwwwww susan!
home is where the heart is, and where you hang your hat...
when home is far away, we think of home, when home is where we are, sometimes we just think...
    wonderful write here!

I like the sentiment of this, very well expressed love of home sweet home. i don't know what to say...i am home alone right now, and i feel really wierd...other than my cat i am the only thing breathing this air, and i there's something kind of creepy about it...that didn't really have anything to do with your poem, sorry, i am just not really in a commenting mood, but i really liked your poem, there was just one thing that i think you had a typo in..."Where i my cares are unburdened" but whatever...

    nicely written

I really like this one, just because I think completely opposite of it. Home is a prison, there is no escaping it, no reason to stay and no way to leave. Simple pleasures are indeed at home, but I am restless.
