Depression?

Two poets walk down the road,

A man and a woman keenly observing the path...

"What is depression?"  she asked.

"Black holes of the inner universe," he said.

"You mean..." she paused and looked at him.

"When we lose our way and realize we don't know," she said.

"We have?" he asked.

Much humour to start the day, I liked and they say poets can explain things in written form, more said and better off for it. Good work,

    Nicely Penned!

thought provoking conversational piece my dear that shows the hidden depression behind the closed doors of your words. if it's personal then I hope the depression goes away...now-a-days this is no more a stigma but that happens to all of us at some degree in our lives and still we hide for different reasons but I believe you have clearly spoken about it only if one understands the poetic metaphors. Good Luck & Take Care

Depression has a lot to do with a hidden problem, most probably because we continue live in denial of something. I am glad you understand it. Depression, personally, was a problem. Then I grew out of denial. I am a happy person. I wish for everyone to be so. Love. Sam

The poem is a question. It's not entirely what I understand more of what I want to understand. Thanks a lot for the comment. Glad you liked it. Love. Sam

    Wow

This is a wonderful piece of writing. It is thought provoking and deep and still very descriptive. It definately has me thinking. I like the definition of depression used here. good job on this one.

Interesting - one is depressed when they lose their way but don't know they are lost. Good way to end this on that questsion - we have? No idea.... liked the brevity of the poem and the way it makes one really think of just what it means. Very creative write.

This is different, I like how they talk and observe the feeling of depression. I like how one wasnt so sure and the other knew, well I think that is what you were trying to do. I went through depression really badly and its been two years since I recovered....Its a very touchy topic for me cause I didnt understand why or how it started and that part of me always seems to come back as who am I, but Now Im back to normal and Your poem has brought the question many may ask, which is "why" or "how"! Do you suffer from depression?
I hope not its a nasty thing to have happen to a person. amanda

I do not exactly suffer from depression. Tension could be defined as my ailment. This is one of my favourites views I saw myself thinking about. Hope everything is fine with you. Thanks a lot for reading and commenting on this. Lots of love and blessings. Sam

well.. why two poets? was waiting for someone to ask me that. cos::: this poem is not only about depression, though that is the subject. Poets are generally of two types - those that state the obvious and those that bury everything in metaphors. Now do you catch that. Hope she is fine. I suffer a bit of depression, not to the level of medicines though. Bless all. love. sam

thought provoking definitely. a nicely penned poem. but might i ask why two POETS and not any other charecters? why have you specified a profession and linked it with depression? is it because it would be easier to fatom the meaning of depression better if it were poets?

for all i know depression could stem from anything an danywhere and its really ugly. my mother suffered from it and had to be under intense medical attention for almost 2 years. its quite devastating to observe. nice subject you picked and well written too.
