Messed Up Destiny

You called me.
On the most ironic of all nights
Of course you were there -
... in the back of my mind
For the first night, maybe ever
You had a car, a phone, and 100 miles to yourself
And you CHOSE to call me

We talked, we laughed, (I giggled - uncontrollably)
I confessed, you learned, and acted shocked
This information you did not know,
but you cared more about my other troubles

Days, nights, weeks have passed
More time spent wondering
"What could have been?"
We've talked, been in contact
On the book of face

But what about destiny?
Where did I go wrong?
Friends tell me, "Keep trying,  it'll happen"
If THEY can feel it,
then why can't fate?

.....

Author notes

so, I wrote this a couple of weeks ago during my math class, and I never finished it, and then something/someone else came up... and yea... I'll probably finish it in the future because *he* just never goes away.

"What could have been?"...we always wonder, but is it worth wondering about? Who knows if we'll miss something else why we're sitting there wondering...
