The Motorway

When driving on the motorway
all that I can see
is lots of little demons
racing after me.

Lorries, vans and smaller cars
all stepping up the pace
instead of coming home from work
you'd think they're in a race.

Beside the road are lots of fields
and lovely views to see
but all that fills the drivers thoughts
is overtaking me.

They speed along the motorway
regardless of their load
it seems man's like an animal
when let loose on the road.

There's signposts, flashing lights and symbols
all along the road
but every man for himself
is now the highway code.

If travelling by motorway
is something you must do
be sure you can control your car
don't let it control you.

i have found where I live people are slowing down because of the whole gas issue. but where i used to live there is a lot of speeding still..

This sends out a good message that all unexperienced drivers need to learn.
    thank you

i think this describes most countries Clown! the only difference we have here in South Africa are all the mini buses (taxis that carry up to an average of 20, which is about 10 ppl over the limit) that tend to push you off the road, change lanes without any indication or stop with out any warning.

    great piece
