Cupid My Old Friend

When I was young
and in my prime
You started lots of fires

When one love grew cold
You always found another

Cupid my old friend
Where have you been

For twenty years you gave me
One love to call my own
but the arrow must have fallen out
Because we grew apart

Cupid my old friend
Where have you been

It been to long
Since I've seen you
Did your wings fall off

Did you lose all your arrows
Or did I use the ones for me

Cupid my old friend
Where have you been

Pull back the bow
And find a mark
One sweet, tender and caring
Please don't leave me

hanging out to dry

Cupid my old friend
Where the hell you been

    Right on the mark!

I never thought to ask Cupid this question before - how original! This is a very refreshing piece - takes me back to my own "experiences" in love. This one was right on target!! When in the world do you find time to create all of these great poems?!?
