When The Moon Cries
The moon hides its eyes as it cries.
moonlight disappears with sadness.
Oh night sky why do you call to me,
do not beckon me in your stillness.
Sorrow comes amid the midnight hour,
as my eyes search the ebony skies.
The blackness over comes my senses,
the mysteries of love, now so elusive.
Everlasting love, far beyond my grasp,
seen as an illusion on the horizon.
Here in my heart, yet a distance too far,
weeping in the silence of my longing.
Oh wondrous sky, shall my destiny be,
what my eyes now see, nothingness?
The sleekness of night, so unsettling,
anticipation begets disappointment.
The tenderness of love, now feels raw,
fears of loneliness exude trepidation.
Your love strolls casually upon my heart,
oblivious to the pain that lay beneath.

Beautiful! One could really got in touch with one's self in this poem. It tells of great and many things. The words flow easily, each one adding more to the overall image it creates. Beautiful and touching.
Sandy, This poem really touched me within and held me captive for a time. The sad thoughts expressed here fit quite nicely with the melancholy backdrop as well. You've done an outstanding job exploring the depths of the emotional pain of heartsickness most of us know well... Thank you for sharing. -

People have looked towards the stars for answers for centuries. Why should we be any different. The stars have inspired legends, romances, wars, and the stuff dreams are made of.

"oblivious to the pain that lay beneath" I would have to say that that is my favorite line out of the entire poem and it is a perfect ending to the poem as well. I liked the flow of this. I'm speechless. Great job. Keep up the great writing.
