Not Broken

How could you do this to me?
Didn't you know I love you?
Now I'm all alone, you're gone
You left me to pick up
Gather up the pieces of my life
As I slowly gather the shards
My heart begins to heal
None of the pieces have you
The pieces don't show you
Suddenly I have to stop
Halting,
Your death has made me realize
Realize, I never loved you
My heart was not broken
Those shards never existed
Just my mind playing tricks

A great poem. It defines things that go through a lot of our lives. Great job, and keep writing!

Excellent piece! And what a significant realization! I love the word halting so that earned you applause haha! Great piece, you put a unique spin on something cliche. Keep penning !
