Finding God Within
Who is this girl with eyes so sad,
so little worth, it makes her mad.
Show me Lord, let truth reveal,
why is there only pain to feel.
Has my self pity taken control,
seized the depths within my soul.
My lesson learned, I must let go,
be strong willed, for faith to grow.
For every life God has a purpose,
sometimes hid beneath the surface.
Now look deep and you will see,
your faith in God will hold the key.
God took your pain, to endure,
He sacrificed to make you pure.
Now you stand with tearful eyes,
wallowing in pathetic disguise.
Come take control of your destiny,
let anger, pain and sadness free.
For how you feel, is who you'll be,
so love yourself internally.
Now grow in faith and spirit too,
have faith God will see through.
Do not despair, pout or whine,
find strength in the Lord divine.

Sometimes we only see what we what to see about ourselves because of the pain or sorrow we feel in our hearts and lives. We take the easy way and feel cheated of happiness. But we have really cheated ourselves by not listening and living our lives through Jesus Christ. We must look to God to see beyond the pain, to the hope of a happier tomorrow through the love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. For He is the only way to truth, true love and happiness.

Oh my, your are the second one in the past hour to say that this poem helped them. I was so down myself yesterday when I wrote it and today the Lord is blessing me and has given me a happy and beautiful day today because I gave him my burdens yesterday. He is an amazing God if we only listen witrh our hearts. He has filled my heart once again with joy and happiness. God Bless you. May you find it too. Love, Mom

What an amazing poem. I really needed to hear this. I was extremely depressed last night and was thinking of suicide. My boyfriend/best friend helped me. But sometimes I wonder if things happen for a reason, then why all this pain and hurt? Why me? But anyways, I really needed to read this so ya and it helped. thanks for sharing this wonderful poem and keep up the amazing work.

Oh nothing pleases my heart more then for my poems to touch others in a positive way. Especially my poem about my personal relationship with God. oh I so needed to read this poem this morning it's like you wrote it just for me Sandygram, cause this is what I've been doing sitting in self-pitty, holding on to all my regets, pain, and anger too...Depression has a strong hold on me, I know Jesus Christ and God is right there for me I just can't seem to get back to them I live in shame and guilt...I love these words and I believe they to be true I will hold my head up high today and let go....thank you so much for all your wonderful writes...

Loved this section about looking to the future and seeing light instead of darkness. -

Love these lines especially. However, I don't know if its so much a matter of self control as it is letting go self to the hand of God. You might give this some thought.
Anyway, a wonderful, wonderful message of prayer and hope.
