beautiful

I sit across the table watching,

every movement of his face

the arch of his eyebrow

dimple on his left cheek

his mouth,

white teeth,

full lips,

a smile that can put sunshine in my day,

I observe every nuance,

of his

Beautiful face!

Vivid blue eyes

so warm,

able to freeze in an instant.

they smile

direct gaze as he speaks,

Beautiful eyes!

I contemplate his hands

no scars,

strong hands for hard work,

soft hands to

rescue the tiniest creature,

Beautiful hands!

I listen to his voice

unique timbre,

a laugh that warms me

he makes me laugh,

I watch and observe

as he talks to his Father

and I feel proud

I love this man,

this man,

My Son!

    Wow

I am truly touched by this poem. As a man & once a son I wish my mom could have penned such beautiful words about me. You son should take his mom & tell her how very wonderful she is

    • Thank You Bob, I now have my son living close by after 10 years interstate and I'm a happy Mom - as an only child he has always been very precious.
      Thank you once again.

A great tribute to your son. I would have guessed it was for your husband as I read the poem. Your son can be proud he has such a caring and thoughtful mother. Makes me think of home. Happy trails -David.

This is a wonderful piece, I didn't realise it was about your son until it was revealed in the poem, it came as a surprise!

The tone and flow of this poem is very loving, I like the way it reflects your thought processes.

    A very tender piece.

They say those around you are a reflection of yourself..in this case i know the apple didnt fall far from the tree
It's wonderful when a parent expresses their love so freely as is obvious that you do ..for there is no feeling like the unconditonal love that you know is alway there for you
Bravo on this vonnie - perfectly penned!
